I wanted a picture for my LJ that looked like a very close to canon Severus, and like a traditional painting.

For reference, I used the painting Saint Paul Writing His Epistles by Valentin de Boulogne, because it was the best pose for what I had in mind, and it turned out quite close to what I wanted.

Thanks to ~KHames for finding the artist's name. ;)
